Australian League of Immigration Volunteers (ALIV) – The Connect Australia Foundation has funded four direct service programs that aim to empower socially oppressed and disadvantaged asylum seekers, increase family cohesion and wellbeing, and provide personal development opportunities for young people that would not be otherwise available to them.

Respite for Single Sudanese Women who have Large Families and are Heads of Households (St Anthony’s Family Care) – This project aims to provide relief for women often suffering from a feeling of helplessness and, frequently depression by giving them and their families opportunities to participate in a variety of recreational activities.

PROJECT GRANT
Healthy Lifestyles Project for Mandaean Refugees (Mandaean Women’s Union of Australia Inc.) – The project will provide settlement support and address physical and psychological health issues by providing organised physical activities, health and nutrition information, supermarket tours, stress management workshops and information sessions that introduce key government service providers.
